PIXAPP Symposium on Photonic Integrated Circuit Manufacturing – Challenges and Solutions was a successful meeting at ECOC 2019. Held on 22nd September at ECOC in Dublin, the symposium was attended by more than 120+ delegates. This symposium brought together key stakeholders to review the current and future status of the manufacturing supply chain of Photonics Integrated Circuits (PICs) and included detailed reviews of critical technology challenges, new developments and future opportunities for high-volume manufacturing of integrated photonic devices.
Peter O’brien introduced and welcomed the delegates at the PIXAPP Symposium. He was joined by an expert speakers such as Sven Otte (Sicoya), Twan Korthorst (Synopsys), Iñigo Artundo (VLC Photonics), David Gomez (X-Celeprint), Luc Augustin (SmartPhotonics), Paul Mooney (Tokyo Electron), Ignazio Piacentini (ficonTEC), and Lionel Kimerling(MIT & AIM Photonics). Jose Pozo, CTO, European Photonics Industry Consortium moderated an interesting panel session. The meeting concluded with a networking reception, where the participants networked and interacted with industry experts, panel members and prospective companies for partnership and collaboration.
